Open Level Classes

Yoga Station offers open classes.  Most are 60 minutes, a few are 90 minutes. You may sign up online before class, or just click the link on the homepage where we update the schedule daily.  All of our classes are open-level, so the teacher will offer versions of the postures for both new and experienced practitioners. We offer two primary styles of yoga: Hatha, where we hold the poses and Vinyasa, where the poses flow from one to another. Within each style, there is room for the teacher to make it their own.

Please remind the teacher about any injuries or conditions before the class so that s/he may offer modifications for your needs. Listen to your body – if a pose or movement doesn’t feel right, don’t do it.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is ideal for practitioners seeking a more gentle, restorative practice. In this style, we hold the poses for several breaths, delving deeper and deeper with every exhalation. Each class has different poses combined with breathing exercises, final relaxation, and a short meditation. This practice is perfect for athletes looking to improve their game by increasing their flexibility and stamina. Hatha is based on the series originated by Swami Satchidananda.

Gentle Hatha

This Hatha practice is modified for students with special needs or physical limitations. This class improves balance and coordination while relieving habitual stress. *BEGINNER APPROVED*

Vinyasa Yoga

In Vinyasa, we use the breath to move from one pose to the next and will work up a sweat. This carefully sequenced practice allows the body to release deeply held tightness and tension. Classes may incorporate music, candles, essential oils, and physical adjustments. Vinyasa classes are geared to students with some experience, though all levels are welcome. This practice is loosely based on Ashtanga Yoga.

Welcoming Classes

You don’t have to be a beginner to enjoy a slow-moving practice.

Basics for Beginners Yoga

Each week new yoga fundamentals will be explored, like standing poses, forward bends, back bends, and inversions. After the first month, students will be familiar with the basic yoga poses, breathing, deep relaxation, and meditation. If you are new to yoga, this is the class for you! *BEGINNER APPROVED*
